Description
You are getting this great antique and rare 111 year old base ball card and board game calledaydelott’s Base Ball Cards, From The Field To The Parlor
and published by
THE Aydelott's Base Ball Cards Co., Detroit, Mich.
in 1910.
The Aydelott’s Baseball Game was a way for players simulate a baseball game.
This game was the creation of a former baseball player, pitcher Jake Aydelott. Aydelott pitched for the Indianapolis Hoosiers in 1884 and the Philadelphia Athletics in 1886.
The box top depicts a great little scene of a game in action with packed stands on the left and a family of four playing the game at a parlor table on the right, as well as the Aydelott’s trademark logo. The game is complete with 103 playing cards plus one advertising card; one original score card that is filled in with pencil so you could easily erase; the original linen-backed green playing field, the original fold-out double-sided instruction booklet marked on the inside cover “entered according to act of Congress in the year 1910 by J. S. Aydelott, in the office of the Librarian of Congress, at Washington”, all four original red markers, all four original white markers (top knob missing on one), The box displays wonderfully and is in excellent condition with just one separated corner on the box top, still very sturdy, and all other corners on box top and bottom intact.
The cards are in excellent condition and look hardly played with as you can see in the photos.
Overall, this is a superb example of this 111-year-old and complete baseball card game.
It will be an excellent addition to your collection.
