Description
Vtg 1920s Old Maid Game Partial Carthage Missouri History Frances Hyde CroweThis game was formerly in the Powers Museum of Carthage, Missouri, which is now closed. It is an interesting box style in and of itself, not many seen like this.
The more interesting part is the names on the bottom, which are of the 4 Hyde sisters. Frances Hyde Crowe was a well known peace and anti-nuclear activist who passed away just in 2019, 100 years of age. Her sister Katherine endowed a trust to fund an arts center which still exists in Carthage today, in the former family home.
Based on the sisters' birthdates, this is most likely from the 1920s.
Would like to get this into the hands of someone who wants it for the names, so if you are that person, make me a foolish offer and I will take it (plus shipping!).
Box shows edge wear and splits. Names written on bottom. 39 cards, as shown. Cards are in a very played-with condition, with creases and marks.
